From July to September, the third edition of the Jazz Festival Circuit runs through Naples and its province as one long, intense jazz shiver. Many emotions in one, bringing together seven festivals into one celebration of sounds and impressions. A journey into music, but also into culture, tourism, wine&food. Because, as music-lovers know well, music is often "the" reason but also a mere pretext.

Circuito Jazz, encouraging figures to think about the future

The figures related to the third edition of the Jazz circuit are quite encouraging.

In 28 days of music, in the framework of 7 festivals, 23 stages hosted 566 artists, 113 of whom international, for a total of 80 concerts (51 free) and 14 related events.

A “movement” that attracted 75 thousand audience and 180 among accredited journalists, experts and photographers.

With its over 230,000 audience in three years of activity, the Jazz Circuit Festival of the Province of Naples has become a must of summer in Campania, and its reputation is growing on the national scene.

Viewed as a positive reality by jazz experts and jazz lovers alike, the experience of the Circuit is an important showcase for the many Campanian artists, and has been able to set up a real network of seven festivals with a twofold common project.

On the one hand, the Jazz Circuit Festival is an invitation to discover this so-called “cultivated” music – which, by the way, is becoming more and more popular among the young and the very young. On the other hand it constitutes a passkey to the landscapes, beauties, treasures and delicacies of a land with plenty of well-known opportunities and places, as well as a rich potential which has not been explored as yet.

On 5 October this journey into jazz, which was hosted in seven municipalities of our province from June to September, was closed by the Orchestra Napoletana di Jazz (ONJ) conducted by Mario Raja – an ensemble that puts together some of the greatest talents of the local jazz scene. An international art project born within the Jazz Circuit.

For this special evening, guests of the ONJ were Raiz and Meg, two voices of today’s Naples who have lately worked more and more with jazz, thanks to the Orchestra conductor’s wish to experiment. This contamination occurred in a unique location: the final concert took place in Villa Ammaturo in Giugliano, one of the most important assets confiscated from organised crime in the past few years and managed by the S.O.L.E. Consortium of the Department for Legality and Security of the Province of Naples. A stage with a strong symbolic value, which puts together musical and civil sensitivity.
