The festival
Like every year, the bill of Pomigliano Jazz presents a wealth of first-rate names: Randy Weston with the African Rhythms Trio; the unpredictable ICP Orchestra; Javier Girotto’s Cordoba Reunion; Maria Pia De Vito and Huw Warren in the première “Dialektos”; the NUBLU Orchestra conducted by Butch Morris; Enrico Pieranunzi/Rosario Giuliani quartet in a tribute to Thelonious Monk, with Enzo Pietropaoli and Fabrizio Sferra; the Gil Evans Orchestra led by Miles Evans (the son of legendary Gil), who will play with two bassists (Matthew Garrison will be joined by Darryl Jones, bassist for Madonna and the Rolling Stones, among others); the Aldo Farias quintet; Marco Cappelli Italian Doc Remix – music project by Itinera – with guests Marc Ribot and Dj Logic; the Flavio Dapiran quintet; the ONJ - Orchestra Napoletana di Jazz, conducted by Mario Raja - in a first-time concert with Randy Weston, Famoudou Don Moye (Art Ensemble of Chicago), Meg, Maria De Vito, Raiz and Roberto Masotti’s video projections.

2008 EDITION
The 2008 edition of the festival has also scheduled "listening to jazz workshops”, led by journalist Pietro Mazzone and musician Francesco Nastro; photo exhibitions, workshops, artistic performances and rehearsals open to the public. The Pomigliano Jazz Festival confirms itself as a place open to unusual productions, bringing together distant musical languages, different cultures and art forms. Free entrance to all the events.
